Horse riding at Pozo Azul

You will be collected from your lodge and driven to a nearby working ranch and renowned activity centre. After a safety briefing you will wind your way through the meadows, forests and rivers surrounding the hacienda, accompanied by an experienced guide. A scenic stop will be taken to enjoy a cold drink and a snack of refreshing tropical fruits, and a transfer back to your lodge is included at the end of the tour.

Sarapiqui white water rafting

The Sarapiqui river is a prime location for rafting in Costa Rica, offering circuits to suit all abilities and pleasant scenery to enjoy along the way. With our preferred rafting operator you can choose from three different options, depending on the season and water levels – a gentle rafting safari suitable for complete beginners, a more adventurous route through class II and III rapids or an exhilarating course through class IV rapids. Please advise us of your preferred level of rafting at time of booking. All tours include full safety briefing, the services of an experienced rafting guide and a refuelling stop for drinks and tropical fruits along the way.

Chocolate tour

The cacao bean was of key cultural significance to the ancient civilisations of Central America, and this interactive tour through leafy forest covers some of the key moments in the history of chocolate, as well as taking you through the fascinating process of chocolate production from bean to bar. There will also be a chance to sample the cacao at various stages on its journey to the chocolate we are familiar with today.

Sarapiqui horse riding, zip lining and rappelling

Your tour will begin with a gentle two-hour horse ride through rolling meadow scenery and tropical forest, led by an expert riding guide. You will then get kitted out for an exciting canopy zip lining tour across 12 cables of varying lengths, culminating in an exhilarating journey across the Sarapiqui river canyon. The final stage of your activity involves a secure abseiling descent down a 90-foot canyon wall offering a wonderful view of the confluence of the Sarapiqui and Pozo Azul rivers.
