Day 1
Depart the UK for your overnight flight to Malaysia's bustling capital.
Day 2
Arrive to Kuala Lumpur where you will meet with your driver for your private transfer into the city. The evening is left free to relax after your flight. The hotels we recommend are centrally located for easy access into the Bukit Bintang area for dinner & drinks.
Day 3
This morning take a guided visit to one of the most important sanctuaries of Hindu culture, the Batu Caves located on the outskirts of the city. The 272 steps leading to the Sanctuary of Murugan can be tiring, but allow for splendid panorama views over the city. Return to the centre for a unique walking tour of the city.
Day 4
With no set itinerary today you are free to explore the city at leisure. You may opt to add another excursion - talk to your specialist about options such as vespa tours, cooking classes and more!
Day 5
Head to Borneo! Take a short flight from Kuala Lumpur over to Sandakan for your entrance to the jungles of Borneo. This evening we have arranged a special night walk at the Rainforest Discovery Centre to seek out the nocturnal wildlife. Take time afterwards to enjoy some delicious local cuisine this evening.
Day 6
Today you have a private tour of the famous Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre where you can witness the orangutans' daily feed. Explore the nursery and observe young orangutans developing the skills required to be released back out into the jungle. Experience the neighbouring Sun Bear Conservation Centre, where 36 rescued bears are currently housed. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue on to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary to encounter the unique Proboscis monkey before heading back to your Sepilok lodge for dinner.
Day 7
Today, it's time to make your way to your next lodge on the Kinabatangan River. This region of Sabah is prevalent with endemic wildlife and it's likely that you will see proboscis monkeys, orangutans, macaques, pygmy elephants, birds and other wildlife during your afternoon cruise along the river.
Day 8
A full day to enjoy boat trips on the river or leisure time - keep your eyes peeled again for plenty of wildlife, including Orangutan high in the canopy!
Day 9
Wave goodbye to the jungle and get ready to kick back and enjoy the beach. Take a short flight from Sandakan over to Kota Kinabalu where relaxation, snorkelling and sunbathing awaits. Your specialist will talk you through the beach options and suggest the most appropriate property for you.
Day 10
Free day at leisure to enjoy your beachside resort. Opt to stay on the mainland with easy access back into the city for dining and shopping, or take the more laid back route with a stay on Gaya Island for ultimate relaxation and tropical island bliss.
Day 11
Free day at leisure to enjoy your beachside resort. You could add an exciting rafting tour or even a visit to the Mari Mari cultural village to gain a deeper understanding of the island's unique culture.
Day 12
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before checking out. Your driver will ensure a seamless transfer to Kota Kinabalu International Airport for your departure.
