Aditya Resort, Hikkaduwa

Aditya is an all suite boutique hotel on the glorious palm fringed coast, just 25 minutes north of Galle in Rathgama. It’s contemporary, open and spacious with excellent food, a large glistening swimming pool, and direct access onto a quiet beach.  The décor is chic and modern with brightly coloured walls and fabrics making a welcome and fun change from the sleek and slightly serious boutique hotels found elsewhere in Sri Lanka. There are 12 glorious suites in total; each one has its own private Jacuzzi tub. The suites are named after Hindu sun gods and there are three choices: Shanthi Suites (these open out to small garden/courtyard), Sagara Suites (these all have ocean views and balconies) and the Surya Suite (this is an indulgent two-story suite with a large sun terrace).  We feel that service here is excellent and very attentive. It makes a relaxing and indulgent start or end to a trip in Sri Lanka.  The only downside is that it books up quickly.
