Victoria Falls Hotel

Hotel overview

Built in 1904 by the British, The Victoria Falls Hotel is the grandest and oldest hotel in the area. Initially built as accommodation for the railway workers for Cecil Rhodes’ dream ‘Cape Town to Cairo’ railway, it is steeped in history which the hotel references throughout the long carpeted corridors featuring drawings, maps and photographs of pioneers and famous explorers.

The hotel provides the perfect balance of modern comfort combined with Edwardian elegance and old-world charm. The rooms are comprised of standard, deluxe and suites, spread amongst the main building and the Stable Signature Wing which also houses two honeymoon suites. Public areas are extensive and include a choice of three dining venues, two lounges, gift shops, hair salon and beauty therapist, chapel, swimming pool and tennis courts – everything you’d expect from an elegant 5* hotel. Set in acres of manicured landscaped gardens, the hotel is a short walk from Victoria Falls town and a ten-minute walk to the Falls and rainforest.

With its iconic backdrop of the Victoria Falls Bridge the hotel has long been a favourite with discerning travellers from all corners of the world. You will feel that you have stepped back in time whilst you sit on the terrace with a gin and tonic and see the spray of the Falls in the distance.
