Hotel overview

In kind with the other NWR restcamps, Halali provides a range of accommodation types, a campsite ambience well at odds with that of a private safari lodge and a privileged location in the Etosha National Park. While smaller than Okaukuejo, the various rooms, chalets and camping pitches are still numerous compared to more intimate lodges on private reserves, providing comfort and facilities rather than bells and whistles. There is a swimming pool, curio shop and busy restaurant, none of which evokes a particularly romantic feel of African safaris. However, the location is excellent, bang in the middle of the park, close to the Etosha Pan and surrounded by wildlife.

There is a floodlit waterhole which attracts a huge volume of wildlife in the dry season, making it a great spot for that definitive Etosha experience of sitting comfortably with a drink in hand after dark to watch game come to you. With guided drives in the park, walks within the camp grounds and ideal self-driving conditions, Halali is ideal for visitors focused squarely on wildlife over accommodation.
