There’s also the advantage of pretty short flying times from the UK and no jet-lag. For the children themselves, it’s likely to expose them to a culture that’s very different but very accessible, and the strangeness of the country around them will always be offset by the comfort and luxury of the hotels, and of course by the hotel swimming pools (or the beach if you decide to head there)!
