The Jayavarman – Inspired by the famous French Golden Age cruiser ‘The Normandie’, the Jayavarman blends colonial avant-garde style with Indochine-inspired splendour. It is a large boat, 190-foot long, but even you include its two extravagant suite rooms, there are still only twenty-six cabins. This sense of onboard space makes The Jayavarman stand out and, without doubt, it is the most lavish boat on the Mekong.
There are four decks with abundant comfortable sitting areas, including a sun deck with a retractable roof (to accommodate passage beneath low bridges), three restaurants and even a small spa. Each cabin is furnished to an astonishingly high spec, with hand-painted walls, carved bed headboards, gorgeous fabrics, French balconies and sliding glass doors to take full advantage of the varied views. The Jahan – The Jahan is Heritage Line’s most romantic cruise liner and was named after the Indian emperor Shah Jahan, who ruled the Mughal Empire from 1628 to 1658. No expense has been spared in the interior or exterior decorations, which showcase the talents of local woodworkers, weavers and artists. When guests aren’t relaxing in their luxurious cabins they can meet friends in the atmospheric East India Club; soak in the Jacuzzi on the Pool Deck; challenge a new friend to a game of chess in the Observatory Lounge; or enjoy a pampering massage in the Apsara Spa.
