Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point, a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Vietnam experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect holiday to match.
If you're looking for two weeks of luxury and indulgence in Vietnam, then this itinerary should tick all the boxes! There are so many highlights along the way – from a private culinary experience with a local MasterChef in Hanoi to admiring the breathtaking landscapes of the Mai Chau valley from your private villa at the Avana Retreat. Also included is a ride on the exclusive Vietage Train for a scenic and luxurious transfer to Anantara Quy Nhon, an elegant beachfront resort offering ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation. End your holiday with a final few nights in Saigon, where you’ll enjoy exclusive rooftop bars, spectacular shows and food that is second to none.
Here's a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Vietnam holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your trip will be tailored to suit you.
You'll leave the UK today on your overnight flight to Vietnam. Your flight will arrive the following day, ready for your lavish adventure to begin.
Welcome to Hanoi! You'll be met at the airport by our brilliant team on the ground and transferred seamlessly off to your luxurious hotel in the city. There's a whole host of wonderful 5* options, we'll be sure to select the one most suited to you. The rest of your day is yours to relax, acclimatise, and settle in after your journey. You can simply take it easy at your hotel, enjoy the pool and gardens, or head out to explore the town at your own pace, soaking up its local markets and getting your first taste of the street food.
Today, you'll join MasterChef Vietnam finalist Chef Ai at her Hanoi home for a hands-on cooking class. You'll visit a nearby market to shop for fresh ingredients, learning all about traditional Vietnamese food along the way. With a bag full of freshness, you'll return to her kitchen to learn how to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes and bring the iconic flavours to life, before enjoying your delicious homemade meal in a warm, authentic setting.
You'll be picked up from your hotel in Hanoi this morning and driven to Mai Chau, about 150 km southwest of the capital. The road weaves through mountains, fertile valleys and traditional villages, and it won't be long before you find yourself a world away from the chaos of the city. With its breathtaking landscapes, welcoming communities, and opportunities for gentle trekking and cycling, your stay in Mai Chau offers an authentic, laid-back experience in rural Northern Vietnam. You'll spend the next two nights in your private villa at the Avana Retreat – it's special!
Today, you'll head off on a private guided walk through Mai Chau’s tranquil countryside, exploring ethnic villages, rice fields, and scenic rural paths while learning about local life and culture. Alternatively, spend the day at leisure, soaking up the luxury of the Avana Retreat with a dip in the pool or with a rejuvenating spa treatment.
Today, you'll wave goodbye to the Avana and continue your journey southwards with a short flight down to Hoi An. At the other end, you'll be met by your driver and driven to check in at the beautiful Anantara on the banks of the river. We love this hotel for its elegant, colonial-style rooms and tranquil gardens. They offer such a peaceful haven just steps away from the buzz of Hoi An's lantern-lit Old Town.
You'll have the opportunity to venture far beyond the tourist trail today, with a guided E-bike tour through Hoi An’s rural, beautiful countryside. We love this tour as it provides visitors with an insight into the lesser-visited hidden spots just outside of the town, which are all too easy to miss! Plus, it’s easy to ride an E-bike in the heat of the midday Vietnamese sunshine! After a day of watching rural life unfold, head back to the luxury of your hotel to refresh before heading out for dinner in one of Hoi An's top spots. As always, we're happy to help with recommendations!
You'll spend a relaxing day at leisure in Hoi An today. Your hotel will be wonderfully central, within easy walking distance of the town’s historic streets, ancient temples, and vibrant markets – plus it’s just a short bicycle ride to the beach! Erin’s favourite thing to do here is to enjoy a traditional Ca Phe Sua Da (Traditional Vietnamese Iced Coffee) by the river and watch the blend of tourists and locals going about their day.
Today is a very special day as you'll be hopping aboard the famous Vietage train to ride the spectacular route from Danang to Quy Nhon. The six-hour journey will fly by as you glide by lush rice paddies, misty mountains, tranquil rivers and charming rural villages all whilst enjoying exceptional onboard service and Vietnamese hospitality at its finest.
Enjoy the next few days of your holiday at leisure at the luxurious Anantara Quy Nhon Villas. The Resort is set on one of the most beautiful private beaches in Vietnam with a mountain backdrop and far-reaching views over the Bay of Quy Nhon. This secluded property is perfect for those searching for a paradise escape and a place to unwind and relax in the sun. We will leave the exploring for elsewhere in the itinerary!
After a short flight south today, you'll arrive in vibrant Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), where your driver will meet you at the airport and drive you into the city for your next luxurious stay. The modern skyscrapers and endless stream of scooters offer a stark contrast to the tranquillity of Quy Nhon. After checking in, head out to get your bearings and discover the city’s rich history, lively markets, and mouthwatering cuisine. Be sure to grab yourself a Banh Mi Sandwich from one of the local street food vendors!
Today we've organised a private guided tour to the Cu Chi tunnels, located just beyond the city. We always recommend this tour, it provides such a fascinating insight into Vietnam’s wartime resilience and ingenuity. If you're not too claustrophobic, you can even head down into one of the tunnels to experience what life may have been like for yourself.
For your final evening in Saigon, we have included a tour of Saigon in a vintage car, followed by a theatrical performance showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam in the Opera House. You'll end the day with a cocktail in hand, recalling all the memories made over the course of your holiday.
Your luxurious adventure around Vietnam comes to an end today as you'll be picked up and driven to the airport in time for your flight home. Until next time, Vietnam!
