Overview
Peru is a wonderful destination for families; many of the attractions are either scenery or wildlife-based, so can be enjoyed as much by children as by parents.
Itineraries tend to be extremely varied and there is always something different to see or do, so trips captivate those even with shorter attention spans! Food and drink is quite varied and there are usually child friendly options of simple plain grilled meats or pizzas on menus – if you cannot see child options then do ask as child portions are often produced with smaller price tags. Allowing time for acclimatisation is always important in Peru, but children do tend to fair better than adults in this respect. One other point to be mindful of is the huge variation in temperatures so come prepared with suncream and plenty of warm clothes for the cooler evenings.
