Excursion Overview
During your Amazon cruise you will depart on a number of excursions by skiff or motorised canoe, which allow you to explore even narrower tributaries in search of a wide variety of flora and fauna. Your naturalist guide will explain why the ecosystems are so unique here and point out species such as toucans, squirrel monkeys and howler monkeys, parrots and macaws. Exact excursions will depend on the weather conditions and the water levels, but you may also visit areas of Victoria Regia giant lily pads, mirror forest and perhaps take a boat safari after dark to look for caiman and other nocturnal creatures of the rainforest. You will also hopefully have the opportunity to see river dolphins at least once during your cruise.
