Hacienda Zuleta

Often described by our clients as a trip highlight, a stay at the 16th century Hacienda Zuleta does not disappoint on any level. This expansive working farm offers a truly luxurious experience, while giving an authentic flavour of traditional Ecuadorian life. Communal meal-times are divine; three course sittings with fresh ingredients that are predominantly sourced from the haciendas own farm. Cheese, quinoa, potatoes, artichoke and other organic vegetables feature regularly on the menu. In terms of activities, the hacienda has a huge amount to offer guests, including extensive walking trails, a working cheese factory, milking parlour and even a condor rehabilitation centre. If that wasnt enough then you can visit the stables for some horse-riding, or hire mountain bikes to explore the area. Just over two hours drive from Quito and an hour from Otavalo market, this makes a great base to explore the region.
