Repère Boréal is a small, design-led cabin stay in the Charlevoix region, set in Québec’s boreal forest between Baie-Saint-Paul and La Malbaie, with the St. Lawrence River close by. It’s a brilliant option if you want something that feels properly away from it all, with trees, dark skies and that quiet “end of the road” atmosphere, but still within reach of the riverside villages and the scenic Route du Fleuve.
Accommodation is made up of eight unique, air-conditioned cabins, each centred around a queen bed, with a few units also offering pull-out beds suited to children, making it a nice fit for a couple or a small family looking for a more outdoorsy stay. The cabins aren’t cookie-cutter, and part of the fun is choosing the one that matches your style. Uhu is the standout if you fancy something memorable, a treehouse set around 10 metres up, with a kitchen, heated floors and a window counter that makes the most of the St. Lawrence views, plus an outdoor fireplace for evenings under the trees. Maikan is built from a shipping container and leans into the stargazing angle with a big panoramic window, along with a kitchenette and an outdoor fireplace. Shiship has a full forest-facing window wall and a kitchen, giving it that cosy “watch the woods” feel, while Mashk adds a loft bed, heated floors, a kitchen and a rooftop deck, which is perfect for a slow morning coffee or sunset views.
WiFi and parking are included, keeping the practical side simple, while the setting and the cabin design give you a stay that feels equal parts peaceful retreat and Québec wilderness experience.
