Alpine Village Cabin Resort is one of Jasper’s most characterful places to stay, set just outside the town centre on the banks of the Athabasca River with wonderful views towards the surrounding mountains. The property is made up of individual wooden cabins spread across a peaceful riverside setting, giving it a much more relaxed and secluded feel than staying in a standard hotel in town.
The location works particularly well for travellers who want easy access to Jasper National Park while still being only a short drive from the restaurants and shops in Jasper town. It’s a great base for exploring Maligne Lake, the Icefields Parkway, Pyramid Lake and the many walking trails around Jasper.
The cabins themselves are cosy and comfortable, built in a traditional alpine style with wood interiors, private decks and large windows to make the most of the mountain views. Many cabins overlook the river, and it’s not uncommon to see elk wandering through the grounds, especially in the mornings and evenings.
There is a small on-site restaurant (open seasonally), and while the property feels quite secluded, you are only a few minutes’ drive from Jasper town for a wider choice of restaurants and cafés.
Overall, Alpine Village is a great choice for those looking for somewhere with a bit more atmosphere and a scenic setting, rather than a standard town-centre hotel, and it works particularly well for couples and anyone wanting a classic Rocky Mountains cabin experience.
