Puerto Valle is a lovely intimate boutique style property not too far from Posadas, making it a great lodge for easy access from either the airport or for combining with Iguazu Falls, located in the north-eastern corner of the reserve. There is a big emphasis here on warm Argentine hospitality with a varied wildlife experience as well as options for kayaking and fishing (although serious fishing enthusiasts will probably opt for a specialist lodge). At the heart of the property is the renovated 19th century estancia building, surrounded by beautiful gardens leading down to the Parana River that borders Paraguay.
Choose a deckchair by the pool or relax in the shade of a straw palapa overlooking the river after a day spent exploring the wildlife that inhabits the river and nearby wetlands. Dining is a great experience here encompassing local produce such as river fish, tropical fruits paired with a great selection of Argentine wines. Its an intimate lodge with only 13 rooms which are really well furnished, including Egyptian cotton sheets. Activities include visiting the nearby caiman farm, horse riding, nature trails, cycling, boat tours, kayaking, bird watching and fishing.
