Cycling the Winelands

Combine a love of wine and the great outdoors with a guided bicycle tour through the heart of the Cape Winelands. Cycle along farm roads and through private vineyards sampling some of the best wines the region has to offer. Half-day tours are available in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek while a full-day tour in Franschhoek includes a glimpse of some of the culture and heritage of this small town. Stellenbosch Foodies walking tour

Franschhoek Wine Tram

Classic Cars at L'Ormarins

L’Ormarins is the main farm in the Anthonij Rupert stable, contributing its grapes towards their superb wines. But it’s quite a surprise to come across a pristine collection of vintage and classic cars here, truly extensive in range and covering everything from a 1926 Ford Model T through to a 2002 Ferrari Enzo. For the uninitiated, it is a treat simply to wander around and admire the cars, but for someone with an interest in cars, the rarity and beauty of some of the cars will really take your breath away. Why not enjoy the best of both worlds and combine a tasting of the estate wines with a visit to the motor museum.

Winelands Golf

Thanks to Gary Player and Ernie Els, golf enjoys a strong following in South Africa, and there are some world-class courses thanks to this legacy. There are historic courses, like the Royal Cape Golf Club, and more modern courses, purpose-built and designed by famous designers, such as the Erinvale course, designed by Gary Player. One thing that all the Cape region courses share is the weather: whilst there will be lots of sun, which is great, there is also quite a bit of wind, making the courses more challenging than they may initially seem!
