Banyan Tree Lang Co – opened November 2012 – is an uber-luxury resort and spa comprising 61 luxury villas in a remote location between Hue and Hoi An. There are no dining or nightlife options nearby the resort so you’ll be spending all your time in the ‘Laguna Resort’ complex. Decor is inspired by local Vietnamese design, with each of the luxurious all-pool villas dotted around the resort built according to traditional architectural designs, inspired by traditional garden houses of Hue. They integrate clay tiled pitched roofs, open courtyards and wood rafter ceilings. Throughout the property, decorative panels, doors, walls and lamps are lavished with intricate latticework modelled after window patterns from the imperial citadel walls. The earth-toned villa interiors continue the traditional Vietnamese aesthetic themes with Lotus motifs, lacquer and silk embroidery, accents of regal purple adorn fabrics, elegant furnishings, paintings, and pottery. Expect the usual high quality Banyan Tree finish and attention to thoughtful details. There is a choice of lagoon or beach pool villas, the ones beside the lagoon being slightly larger…but without the magnificent sunrises. Dining options include 4 restaurants within the Banyan Tree and a further 3 in the next door Angsana Resort, which can be charged back to your villa. Having these 2 upmarket resorts (only) side-by-side is a blessing as all facilities are shared, doubling your options in all respects.
As you would expect from a Banyan Tree resort, there is an award winning world-class spa (treatment rooms also surrounding a small lagoon) featuring Asian-inspired treatments and staffed by experienced therapists, trained elsewhere and transferred to Vietnam. It is pretty much a must-do for city-slickers in need of a massage, herbal wrap or full body treatment like the 150-minute “Royal Banyan” with warm herbal pouch applications, a hint of sesame oil, lemongrass-cucumber body scrub and herbal bath. Designed by golf legend Sir Nick Faldo, the Laguna Lang Co golf course is blessed with diverse terrain and stunning views of the coastline.
