Famed for its colourful mountains, geological formations and historical villages, the Quebrada de Humahuaca or Humahuaca Gorge is a spectacular landscape found north of Salta in Jujuy province. The region is famous for its colourful mountains, its geological formations and the historic villages that dot its land. Visit a food market in Humahuaca and take a short hike along a red canyon. Wander amongst a garden of giant cacti and explore the pre-Incan fortress at Pukara de Tilcara. You can also spend time in the pretty colonial towns of Tilcara, Purmamarca and Humahuaca, perfect for checking out the local handicraft markets. Private guided tour by 4wd vehicle.
