Once a frontier homestead, Riverdene has been beautifully restored and now rings with the sound of hospitality being thoroughly enjoyed, as it must once have done all those years ago. Having been recently renovated the lodge now boasts a beautiful large open-plan lounge with fireplace, a bar with fireplace and dining room with indoor and outdoor seating.  Riverdene is superb for families, with a Kids Club and Outdoor Adventure Centre as well as a shallow section of the pool for them to splash in.

Shamwari Private Game Reserve is not far off the size of the Isle of Wight, a huge area of land with the sole aim of restoring and preserving the original landscape, flora and fauna of the region. Game concentrations are excellent, and this is definitely the best place in the Eastern Cape to see the Big Five of elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion and leopard in the wild.
