For big views and a fun, easy-to-fit-in stop near Golden, the Golden Skybridge is a cracking option. The star of the show is Canada’s highest suspension bridge, stretching high above a dramatic canyon, with the Columbia Valley spread out below and the Rocky and Purcell mountain ranges framing the horizon.

Once you’re out on the bridge, you’ll get that proper “wow” moment as you look down to the rushing river and waterfall far beneath you, it’s one of those places where you’ll take far too many photos and still feel like you’ve not captured it properly.

It’s not just a quick look-and-leave either. Your admission also gives you access to walking trails through the forested surroundings, plus there’s a treetop play area that’s great if you’re travelling with children. If you’re after an extra adrenaline hit, there are optional add-ons on site too, including the canyon swing and other adventure activities, and there’s a restaurant for a relaxed bite afterwards.
