If you want a big, bucket-list wildlife day on the BC coast, this is one of the strongest experiences from Campbell River. You’ll travel by boat into the dramatic fjords of either Bute Inlet or Toba Inlet, soaking up the scenery as the coastline becomes wilder and more remote.
Once in the inlet, you’ll spend time on land in prime grizzly habitat, watching for bears along the river as they forage during the salmon run. It’s an experience that feels genuinely immersive, a mix of coastal wilderness, powerful wildlife moments, and that sense of being far from anywhere.
The tours are hosted in partnership with First Nations, with the Homalco First Nation in Bute Inlet and the Klahoose First Nation in Toba Inlet, adding a meaningful cultural connection to the places you’re exploring. Lunch and hot drinks are included, so it’s a comfortable full-day adventure as well as an unforgettable one.
Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, but this is a fantastic option in late summer and early autumn when conditions are often at their best.
We offer tailor-made holidays to suit a wide range of tastes. Our expert Paul is dedicated to all things Canada and is here to help you plan your perfect trip.
