Lakeview Hecla Resort

Lakeview Hecla Resort is a classic, easygoing base in Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park, set at the northern tip of Hecla Island, around two hours north of Winnipeg. With Lake Winnipeg all around you and a real “get away from it” feel, it’s a great option if you want a comfortable resort stay while using the park as your playground for walks, lake views and fresh air.

Accommodation is in a larger resort-style set-up, with 87 rooms and suites, so it’s well geared up for a smooth, no-fuss stay. Rooms come with all the practical extras that make life easy on a road trip, including a TV, coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave, plus an in-room safe, hair dryer, and iron and ironing board. If you’d like a bit more space, the one-bedroom suites are the best upgrade, with a king bed in a separate bedroom, which gives you a nicer sense of separation for relaxing in the evenings.

WiFi and parking are included. One thing to bear in mind is that the Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park vehicle permit isn’t included with the resort, so you’ll need to purchase that locally. You can pick it up at park offices and a selection of local shops, so it’s straightforward once you arrive.
