Hotel overview

This grand iconic hotel was built in the early 20th century by the founders of the Canadian Pacific Railway as a terminus for the rail service. It was converted into a high-end resort hotel when the train service ceased and has been at the forefront of attracting visitors to the City of Gardens ever since.

Its impressive position overlooking the harbour makes it a landmark in Victoria and with accommodation ranging from standard twin/doubles to signature harbour view rooms to suites, there is so much choice for a lovely stay here. Amenities include an indoor swimming pool, 24-hour room service, a spa, WiFi (a charge is payable), bicycle rental, laundry, children's activities and a fully-equipped health club.

For those looking to dine in there are two restaurants, both serving local produce, and one has a patio for alfresco dining. Don't forget it's always time for tea at the Empress, so why not experience one of their famous cream teas, which have been served since the day it opened in 1908.
