Summer Alpine Experience

The Summer Alpine Experience is one of the best ways to see Whistler’s mountains in all their glory. It begins with the journey up the gondola, where the views open out over forests, glacier-carved valleys and the peaks that surround the resort. The real highlight is the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, which links Whistler and Blackcomb in a single span and gives you a unique perspective of the landscape below. It feels peaceful, vast and genuinely impressive, even if you’ve spent time in the mountains before. Once you step off at the top, there’s plenty to explore. A network of easy scenic trails winds between viewpoints, alpine meadows and ridgelines, and there are cafés and restaurants where you can sit with a drink and take in the views. Interpretive displays help make sense of the geology and history of the area, and it’s not uncommon to spot wildlife along the way. It’s an easy and rewarding day out for anyone visiting Whistler in summer, with the freedom to wander at your own pace and simply enjoy being high in the alpine with some of the best views in the region.

River of Golden Dreams Canoe Tour

The River of Golden Dreams is a classic Whistler summer experience and a really enjoyable way to spend a few hours on the water. The tour begins on Alta Lake, which is calm and open, giving everyone time to get comfortable with the canoe before heading towards the river. Once you drift into the narrower channels, the scenery becomes more intimate, with lily pads, low hanging greenery and the chance to spot ducks and geese along the banks. It’s a gentle, scenic route that still feels like a bit of an adventure, especially in spring when the water moves more quickly, or in late summer when natural obstacles like beaver dams can appear. Guides keep things relaxed and share a little about the area as you go, which makes the whole experience feel very typically Whistler.
