Archie and Isidore Hotel

Hotel overview

The Archie & Isidore Hotel is a small, modern boutique stay right on the waterfront in Chéticamp, an Acadian fishing town on Cape Breton Island. It’s a great spot if you want somewhere with a bit of character, but still with a clean, contemporary feel, and it works especially well as a base for the Cabot Trail and Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

The hotel is intimate, with just eight suites, and no two rooms are quite the same. The look is fresh and thoughtfully put together, with individual styling and artwork from local makers, which gives it a more personal feel than a standard chain hotel. In-room touches like espresso or Nespresso-style coffee and a minibar add to the “easy stay” vibe, and some rooms include balconies so you can sit out and take in the coastal air.

There’s a relaxed set-up on site, with shared spaces that make it easy to unwind between days out exploring. A highlight for many guests is the hot tub, and there’s also a small gym, plus a terrace and lounge areas that suit a slower pace. Check-in is designed to be straightforward and contactless, which keeps everything feeling simple and low-fuss.

In terms of location, you’re close to the harbour and the small-town essentials, while still being perfectly placed for day trips into the Highlands for scenic drives and hikes. It’s a really strong choice if you want a stylish, comfortable base in Chéticamp, with a calm atmosphere and an emphasis on the little details that make a short stay feel special.
