For us a “classic” trip is one that incorporates the major highlights, but also allows a little time for relaxation and one or two lesser-known destinations or activities to give you a more rounded experience of Malaysia.
Starting or ending in Kuala Lumpur is the norm, and from there it’s on to explore the delights of the West Coast with time in Malacca, Penang or Langkawi, or venture to the East for a beach escape and a chance to explore the colourful culture in Kota Bharu. On any Malaysian itinerary wildlife or adventure is sure to feature – journey to the central states to explore Taman Negara, the Cameron Highlands or Belum Rainforest, or for the more adventurous an escape to Malaysian Borneo is a must.
