Canopy zip lining is one of the country’s most famous activities, and you can ease yourself into the experience with more gentle tours or throw yourself in at the deep end with some truly adventurous circuits with long, fast cables and astonishing views. If heights are not an issue, you will also enjoy zip lining combined with rappelling, or even canyoning – the invigorating experience of abseiling down a waterfall! White water rafting is also superb in Costa Rica and, again, there are options to suit all levels. There are some excellent hiking options throughout the country, and many national parks can also be explored on mountain bike or on horse-back, whilst the lakes and marine reserves lend themselves to kayaking and snorkelling.
