You really don’t have to search too hard to find things to do here — activities are seeping out of every pore of this lively town. For adventure activities, there’s a whole host on offer: mountain biking, ziplining, white-water rafting, tubing, paragliding, ATV and 4WD tours, to name but a few. But there are also beguiling landscapes to be explored on foot, with many walking trails weaving through the surrounding mountains, and the Peak 2 Peak Gondola whisking you up to dizzying heights for spectacular views. There are also a couple of cultural attractions that are well worth a visit if you have time. The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre was the first-ever centre dedicated to the history and culture of local indigenous peoples, and it showcases two very different First Nations groups, one coastal and one inland, giving a fascinating insight into their respective cultures. Conversely, the Whistler Museum gives an overview of the modern-day development of this bustling resort and how it became such a hub for snowsports, including plenty of information on the 2010 Olympics and historical imagery of people enjoying the slopes here.
