Whilst the mountain views from downtown Jasper are pretty impressive, for a loftier perspective head to the Jasper Tramway, a gondola which gently rises to 2,227 metres above sea level. A ‘flight attendant’ will point out a number of sights during the seven minute journey to the top then at the upper station you will find interpretive boardwalks from which you can experience breath-taking 360 degree views of the surrounding mountain ranges and glacial fed lakes, along with a restaurant. From here there is 1.5 kilometre long Summit Trail along which you can explore unique alpine plants and keep an eye out for wildlife, with even more spectacular views from Whistler’s Mountain at the top. If you don’t have a car transfers are available from central Jasper.
