Tofino sits on the edge of Clayoquot Sound, a vast area of temperate rainforest and deep fjord inlets. It is a fantastic place for wildlife, with black bears perhaps being one of the most iconic, and on this two-and-a-half hour excursion you travel in a Zodiac vessel to go and view them. At low tide the bears wander down to the shoreline to forage for shell fish – crabs, clams and barnacles – and so can be observed from a safe distance on the water. Your guide will share information about both the bears and other wildlife that you may encounter, such as eagles, seals and porpoises, as well as interesting facts about this pristine natural environment.
