Sri Lanka is a fantastic honeymoon destination; it’s tiny in size yet it packs so much in, including incredible beaches, so you can spend more time enjoying your honeymoon rather than travelling from A to B.
The island suits a variety of tastes and budgets, from outdoor adventure to ancient culture and from luxurious beachside retreats to simple huts nestled in the jungle.
If you’re heading on honeymoon during the UK summer months (May-Sep) then we suggest keeping north and east to avoid the rains. On the east coast there are some incredible untouched beaches; take a look at Jungle Beach as the perfect honeymoon escape! If you are travelling from November to April then keep west and slightly south; here the weather will be drier. It’s here you’ll find glorious beaches and the delightful town of Galle.
For those who like to keep off-the-beaten-track then consider Gal Oya National Park; recently opened up, this wildlife destination feels incredibly remote and romantic, and you can even enjoy private picnic while you are out on safari.
What’s more, Sri Lanka combines brilliantly with The Maldives, home to some of the worlds finest islands escapes.
