The interior of the Musandam Peninsula rises steeply from the shore into a creased and jagged maze of peaks and valleys. Driving the dizzying roads that carve through the landscape, you pass through villages perched in impossible positions, their traditional architecture blending with the harsh landscape. It’s a step back in time and a chance to marvel at some extreme geology and how humans have sought to control it.
