During your cruise, there will be a variety of shore excursions available. While the exact options vary depending on the cruise company and the route you are taking, there is usually an excellent selection of wildlife, scenery, or culture-oriented excursions. Here are some examples of popular shore excursions:

• Juneau: Despite its remote location, Juneau is the capital of Alaska. Here, you can wander around the town or partake in activities such as bear or whale watching, kayaking, seaplane exploration, foodie tasting tours, helicopter glacier treks, and much more.

• Ketchikan: The colourful weatherboard houses in this charming fishing town provide excellent photographic opportunities. To explore further afield, you could look for bears by floatplane, visit a rainforest sanctuary, join a canoe safari, or take a cultural tour of the town.

• Skagway: Known as the gateway to the goldfields, Skagway has a rich heritage reflected in its restored buildings and wooden boardwalks. You can take a city tour, try zip-lining, have a go at gold-panning, or ride the famous White Pass Railway.
