Excursion Overview
The beehive tombs of Bat are a half-day excursion from the Nizwa area and will appeal to those with an interest in very early history, and who will enjoy a drive through the plains and mountains of Oman’s interior. One of the first UNESCO World Heritage sites in Oman, the distinctive beehive tombs that are silhouetted against the jagged mountain backdrop date back some 5,000 years and mark some of the earliest evidence of human activity in the country.
