Iraq Al-Amir is not only famous for its ancient archaeological sites (Qasr al Abd), natural caves, and its many springs, but here, you will also find the Iraq Al-Amir’s Women’s Cooperative Society. Established in 1993 by the Noor Al Hussein Foundation (NHF), it is managed and run by women in the local community who are members of the Society, which has created many job opportunities for women in the local community. The Society offers many handicraft-related experiences such as ceramic-making, natural paper-making, hand weaving, and soap making. Most importantly, the society has become a centre where tourists and locals stop by to enjoy food-related experiences.
