The scenic town of Saijo – half an hour from Hiroshima – makes the most of its crystal-clear waters by producing lots of crisp and tasty sake (rice wine).
Learn about the brewing process and try the various types of sake (and sake-based products) on offer, before stocking up on souvenirs to bring home with you. Lunch will be in a regional favourite – bishu nabe – a hot pot of meat, vegetables and (naturally) some of the famous local sake!
