The perfect winter getaway to Morocco
When you think of Morocco , our bet is your mind goes straight to images of the golden sands of the Sahara Desert, savouring the shade in city souks or stretching out by the pool under the hot African sun. But, first impressions aren’t always to be trusted!
Morocco is a fantastic winter destination, too.
✓ Cosy rooms with roaring fireplaces
✓ Quiet and peaceful markets
✓ Romantic 5* riads overlooking snow-capped mountains
Emma and Rebecca, our Morocco specialists (there they are below!), LOVE this country at any time of year. But, they both agree that the Moroccan winter months offer something a little bit special.
So, pop your feet up, get cosy and find out more below…
Days 1-3: Essaouira
Your adventure starts in Essaouira . The vibe here is exactly what you’d expect from a coastal city: Relaxed, chilled and a much more calming introduction to this exotic country than the bigger, more central cities would be. Plus, the locals are so friendly and welcoming to tourists too, so you’ll be welcomed and seduced by this place in equal measure.
Highlights include: ✓ Grab a delicious dinner and indulge in a romantic hammam experience for two at a traditional Riad hotel. We love Villa Maroc ! ✓ Amble around beautiful Essaouira and its ancient ramparts ✓ Learn all about the flavours of Morocco at a cooking workshop (just like our Emma in the photo above!)
Days 4-5: Unwind in luxury in the Atlas Mountains
Head to the Atlas Mountains where the romance of the beautiful rolling hills, set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains is so enchanting at this time of year.
Highlights include: ✓ Nestled within 60 acres of parkland, flower beds, olive trees, orchards and plenty of rose bushes, Domaine De La Roseraie just oozes romance and is one of our favourite hotels in the region. ✓ Explore the remote surrounding villages and get a real taste of mountain life. ✓ Take a guided walk in Ouirgane , through the heart of Berber country. This is the perfect opportunity to get an authentic glimpse what life in the mountains is like.
Day 6: A night under the desert stars
It’s time for a desert adventure! Head to the Agafay Stone Desert and find yourself in a completely different, almost otherworldly landscape.
Highlights include: ✓ Stay in one of the Inara Camp’s luxury tents and spend a romantic, opulent night under the stars. ✓ Watch the sun sink below the horizon, painting the wide sky all shades of pink and red as you experience the magic (and slight discomfort – if we’re honest!) of a sunset camel ride. Your buttocks might not thank you, but your memories will! ✓ Take a dip in their ‘desert lagoon’ swimming pool, whilst gazing out across the far-reaching plains of the stone desert and the snow-capped Atlas Mountains beyond.
Days 7-9: Marrakesh
Head to Marrakesh (just an hour’s drive away!) and you’ll find yourself in the buzzing, sense-assaulting medina. Quite the contrast to the wide open spaces and starry skies of the stone desert, Marrakesh really is one of the jewels in Morocco’s crown.
Highlights include: ✓ Hidden behind imposing and impressive, carved wooden doors, La Maison Arabe is a great choice for a winter stay in Morocco. Almost palatial in style, it will quickly become your calming o
asis amidst the frenzy of the medina. ✓ Head to their amazing spa for the ultimate pampering afternoon. ✓ Enjoy a true feast for the senses on a souks and medina tour with a local guide.
Day 10: Time to fly home
Never anyone’s favourite day of a holiday, but today it’s time to head back to the airport for your flight home. We can guarantee you’ll be sad to leave, but we’re also fairly sure the memories and photos from your romantic Morocco adventures will make the flight home a happy one.
Rebecca and Emma, are at the end of the phone on 01242 253 073 ready to share their first-hand knowledge of Morocco and answer any questions you may have about getting a winter break in the diary!

The Jewel of Africa: Our Perfect 10 days in Uganda
We’ve done it again! This week majestic Uganda has been added to our portfolio of destinations! So, we thought we’d share our recommended ’10 days in Uganda’ classic itinerary to celebrate!
As a small but growing tour provider, we love nothing more than adding a new country to our list. A great deal of thought and work goes on behind the scenes before we consider doing so. We pride ourselves on being specialists in each destination we offer. So, we’d only launch a new country when we know we can offer incredible trips backed up by the personal experiences and knowledge of our team.
Uganda – frequently heralded as ‘the jewel of Africa’ – is a stunning and fascinating country to visit. A kingdom of many awe-inspiring landscapes, from lush rainforests and never-ending African plains to roaring waterfalls and mountainous backdrops, its beauty is undeniable.
Above all though, it is without a doubt one of the best places on earth to see primates in the wild. With opportunities to track endangered mountain gorillas and walk with wild chimpanzees as well as multiple safari options, Uganda is a wildlife-enthusiasts dream destination.
This Ugandan itinerary put together by Emma, our Uganda specialist here at HA, aims to hit all the highlights whilst making sure you really get a feel for the country. Every trip we design is 100% bespoke to you and what you want to get from a holiday, so this really is just one option. If you like what you see but fancy tweaking it a little to really suit your needs, give Emma a call to plan your perfect Uganda adventure. Let’s go!
A Perfect 10 days in Uganda
Day One – Uganda awaits
Your adventure starts with an overnight flight from the UK to Nairobi. Flights take between 10 and 12 hours. So you’ve got plenty of time to put your feet up, indulge in a host of in-flight movies and feast on multiple bags of peanuts today!
Day Two – Explore Entebbe, the gateway to Uganda
This morning you’ll hop on a connecting flight to Entebbe – (don’t worry, this one’s only a little over an hour!). Although smaller than neighbouring capital Kampala, Entebbe is home to the country’s main airport. For that reason, it has become the central hub for visitors arriving in and leaving Uganda.
On arrival, you’ll be met by a friendly local guide and will have the chance to explore some of the highlights of the area. It’s undeniable that you’re going to be beside yourself with excitement for the wildlife adventures to come, but there are some sights worth visiting in Entebbe first to whet your appetite.
Entebbe is a city perching on the Northern shores of Africa’s largest freshwater lake, Lake Victoria. You could head across the lake this afternoon to the Mabamba Swamps , hop in a canoe and challenge yourself to spot the rare and elusive African Shoebill. Or give yourself the perfect introduction to the country with a ‘behind the scenes’ tour at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre . This 72-acre complex was established in 1994 to protect and rehabilitate local wildlife and will allow you your first glimpse at a chimpanzee.
Day Three – Arrive in Bwindi
Another quick flight this morning as you hop on a connection to Bwindi. As there’s so much to see, flying between the main sights leaves you much more time for those all-important animal encounters. We want to really make sure you get the most out of these 10 days in Uganda.
Without doubt the opportunity to spend time with majestic gorillas will be the focus of your time in Bwindi; but before the excitement of that tomorrow, it’s worth taking some time to explore the surrounding areas…
If you’re a keen birdwatcher, grab your binoculars and enjoy a guided bird walk through the lush tropical rainforests. There are an incredible 350 species of bird said to live amidst the green, so your bird-spotting eyes will most definitely be kept busy!
With so much of your visit to Uganda focused, quite rightly, on the incredible wildlife, you might choose to take a day to get under the skin of the local communities. Join a guide and explore the suspended forest walkways as you get more of a feel for the beautiful area and the Batwa people who live in the surrounding villages. Learning about their culture and way of life will give you a valuable insight into what it’s like to live on the edge of the Impenetrable Forest.
Make sure you get plenty of kip tonight as two incredible (but strenuous!) days with the gorillas await!
Day Four – Explore Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
The day has arrived! Uganda is one of the best places in the world to come face to face with our fuzzy primate relatives. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is the Serengeti of Uganda, with around 400 incredible mountain gorillas calling the forest home.
Mountain gorillas are the most endangered of all the apes in the world. With less than 1,000 left on this earth, having the opportunity to see them in the wild really is a true honour and an experience you won’t forget in a hurry.
For the good of the gorillas, the local authorities in Uganda have put strict limits on how many visitors can trek with the animals at any one time. This helps ensure the gorilla’s home still feels like home to them as well as giving you a more personal experience. When we chat with you about ideal travel dates, we’ll recommend the best area of Bwindi to stay to ensure you can get permits for your party.
Imagine trudging through the hidden paths of the forest, the close air and noises from deep in the bush submerging you fully in this new environment. Out of nowhere, your guide stops, you’ve come across a family of gorillas. This is sure to be one of the most humbling moments of your life, being in the presence of these awe-inspiring animals as they go about their daily life, happy with you there, sharing their morning with you.
The hike isn’t easy, but you are more than rewarded for your efforts. Plus, you’ll have expert guides and porters to help with your gear alongside you every step of the way, keeping you safe and ensuring you have the best experience possible in this remarkable part of the world.
Day Five – Discover the Bwindi Waterfalls or get even closer to the gorillas with a full day habituation experience
If you fancy a bit more exploring today, why not take a trip to one of the nearby lakes or waterfalls? Gorillas are definitely top of the bill in Bwindi, but they’re not all it has to offer.
Consider going on an adventurous forest walk along the Munyaga River Trail (accessed from the North Gate) or the Rushaga Trail (more convenient if you’re staying in the South!). Whichever trail you choose, prepare to be enchanted by the sounds of the forest as the rising heat of the day burns off the early morning mist and you make your way through the green. If you’re lucky you might see a family of colobus monkeys swinging through the vines above your head or perhaps spot rare African green broadbill flitting between the leaves.
However, if you are craving a little more time with the gorillas (and no one would blame you!), for even more of a majestic and personal experience we really recommend the gorilla habituation experience.
This is a very special full-day excursion and is completely private. Join a team of rangers and researchers as they trek deeper into the forest and track down lesser-visited gorilla families. You get to spend an incredible four hours with the animals on this trip, learning about their habits and lifestyles as well as how the researchers work to introduce new groups of gorillas to human visitors.
There aren’t many places in the world where you can spend this amount of time with a species that is so endangered. And today you have the opportunity to add this showstopping experience to your memory bank. This is a spellbinding and humbling excursion not to be missed.
Day Six – Drive to the beautiful Queen Elizabeth National Park and spot the famous tree-climbing lions
A bit of a drive today, but it will be worth it when you finish your day at a beautiful lodge in the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After two hours on the road, break up the drive with a morning stop off at the Ishasha Community Project. You’ll get a taste of the real, rural and authentic Uganda here. Spend some time getting to know the local people of Ishasha, hear about how they go about their daily lives and live in harmony alongside Uganda’s wildlife. More importantly, you can take the time to learn about the innovative ways they’re working to pull themselves out of poverty. This really will be such a worth-while and inspiring visit.
Hop back in the car as you make your way into the beautiful Queen Elizabeth National Park , Uganda’s most visited national park. Spanning just shy of 2,000 square kilometres, this natural wonderland boasts a multitude of spectacular but contrasting landscapes and is teeming with wildlife. From lions to elephants, you won’t be short of spotting opportunities here!
Soon after entering the park, make a stop off in the remote Ishasha sector for a chance to spot the famous tree-climbing lions. If you’re lucky enough to come across a male, take note of their very impressive and distinctive black manes. After adding these amazing mammals to your ‘spotted list’, drive on to your lodge and settle down for the evening.
Day Seven – A full day of animal spotting
An early start today for what is sure to be yet another highlight of your time in Uganda. Whether you’re a seasoned safari-goer or a first-timer, a safari in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth National Park is sure to impress.
After a delicious bite of breakfast, jump in a 4×4 and head out with your friendly safari guide ready to explore this vast park. These guides are true experts in their field, having spent years on end studying the animals and their habitats. Whether it be about an animal you encounter, a track on the road or a peculiar plant – you’re sure to learn a fun fact or several on the way!
The national park is home to around 95 mammal species and countless birds. Some of the amazing animals you could hope to encounter on your game drive include; buffalo, hippo, crocodile, elephant, leopard, lion and chimpanzee. You could go on a safari drive every day for a month and come across something different and wonderful every time. You’re absolutely in for a treat.
After a filling lunch, mix things up a little with a leisurely boat safari on the Kazinga Channel . This truly is an idyllic way to spend a balmy afternoon; floating down the peaceful waterways, passing hippo and crocodile cooling themselves off the banks of the national park.
What a day! Travel back to your lodge as the sun falls below the horizon for a hearty dinner around the campfire. Chat about your day until the sky fills with stars and your bed is calling.
Day Eight – Trekking with the chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge
After a much-needed sleep, wake early for your next primate encounter. This time with primates who share an incredible 90% of their DNA with us, the chimpanzee! Dust off your hiking shoes and walk into the incredible Kyambura Gorge for a morning of chimpanzee trekking.
You’ll be accompanied by some very experienced guides who know how to read the chimps’ tracks and predict their movements – giving you the best possible chance of seeing them!
Tracking these chimps means you go where they go. Queen Victoria National Park is famous for its volcanic features so you could find yourself negotiating steep gorges or traipsing through dense jungle. You’ll need a fair level of fitness to keep up with the chimps here!
After lunch, take a drive (and a well earned rest!) to Kibale Forest National Park in Western Uganda. Keep your cameras handy on the journey because you’ll cross the equator on this trip. It’s not every day you do that!
The lush, evergreen rainforest of Kibale is surrounded by dramatic volcanic crater lakes and set beneath the spectacular Rwenzori Mountains. The forest is home to 70 forest mammals including elephants, buffalo and antelope, 13 species of primate and an incredible 375 species of bird, making Kibale Forest one of the top bird-watching destinations in Uganda. Take a few hours this afternoon to walk around the Bigodi Swamps, looking up through the ceiling of palm trees as you go, seeing how many different bird species you can spot.
Day Nine – Get your final fix of the primates
You couldn’t see your last full day in Uganda pass by without spending a little more time with the chimpanzees.
Kibale Forest National Park is by far the best place to see chimpanzees, with around 1,500 living in the area and 80-90% of treks achieving successful sightings of the furry primates. So you should absolutely be able to end your Ugandan wildlife adventure on a high here.
This final adventure involves a 2-5 hour trek through the thriving forest, the length depending entirely on where the chimpanzees are and how deep into the jungle you need to venture to see them. Once found, the rangers allow visitors to observe the chimps for one hour before leaving to let them go about their business.
Being so closely related to us, observing these incredible creatures is nothing short of mesmerising. The way they move, eat and interact all bear such close resemblance to us, you may well feel like you’ve got more in common with these primates than you were expecting!
Day Ten – Hometime
On the last of your 10 days in Uganda, sadly the time has come to start your long journey back to the UK. Choose between a lengthy drive or a fast flight back to Entebbe airport before boarding your flight back home.
Whenever Emma returns from some time in this amazing kingdom, she spends her journey home ogling over her gorilla photos and pinching herself over what she’s just experienced. We reckon you might just be doing the same!
We hope this suggested 10 days in Uganda has given you a good idea of the remarkable experiences this country has to offer. If you’d like to find out more give us a call on 01242 253 073, we’d love to start designing a trip perfect for you.

The hibernation's over: Canada holidays are back!
We have some exciting news for you today. It’s been a while, but after a period of hibernation that the Grizzly bears themselves would be proud of, Canada is officially back on our holiday menu, and it’s bigger and better than ever.
From the iconic Rocky Mountains to the icy blue lakes and the vibrant cities of Vancouver and Toronto , Canada is a country that packs a serious punch. Whether you’re seeking thrilling adventures, serene escapes, wildlife encounters you’ll never forget, or a mix of it all, this vast and beautiful country has something for everyone. And with our new Canada expert, Paul, on board, you’ll get the inside scoop on everything this incredible destination has to offer.
Below, Paul shares why he’s excited to be heading up the relaunch, with some top tips thrown in for good measure.
Why are you excited to be relaunching Canada for HA?
“I’m really excited to be relaunching Canada , as it is such a special place that exceeds expectations. It’s home to some of nature’s finest masterpieces, like the well-known Rocky Mountains and Niagara Falls , but also to some of the lesser-travelled wonders, like the Bay of Fundy or Dinosaur Provincial Park . Each offers different and unique experiences, but all are equally amazing.
Canada is also home to so many different cultures, all of which add something a little different to its cosmopolitan cities, bringing them all to life through a riot of music, art and food. Get your jazz hands ready in a downtown bar in Montreal , live like a local in Toronto and head to Kensington Markets to grab yourself a tasty treat and meander around the unique artisan shops, or check out Indigenous artefacts showcasing Canada’s history in one of the many museums across the country.
Canada’s people aren’t the only thing that’s diverse; so is its wildlife. Few places on earth offer such incredible opportunities to see to bears, moose, deer, beavers, wolves, coyotes, whales, eagles, and caribou to name a few. The national parks and wildlife lodges dotted around the vast country offer some of the best wildlife viewing in the world.
However you choose to explore this remarkable country, whether it is hiking one of the many mountain trails or cruising around the lakes in a canoe, once you have dipped your toes in, you’ll want to dive right back in and keep exploring all that this incredible country has to offer and I can’t wait to help you experience it all for yourself”
What’s your top Canada holiday tip?
“Make sure to always have some Loonies and Toonies to hand! The $1 and $2 coins are essential for paying parking meters, vending machines, laundry facilities, and especially when passing through some of the smaller Canadian towns. They’re charming and ‘oldie-worldie’ in so many ways, and “contactless” hasn’t quite reached there yet!”
Where’s your favourite place in Canada?
“ Montreal holds a special place in my heart, I think mainly because when I first visited, I actually had no expectations but ended up being completely captivated by the city. It’s so unlike any other North American city that I have visited, in that it beautifully blends a modern city, into a old-world European style city effortlessly. Mont Royal, which was actually designed by the same mind behind Central Park, offers sweeping views beautiful tree lined walks, which feels very North American, yet a short stroll away you can be in Old Montreal where cobbled streets, historic architecture, and the sound of jazz music fills the streets!
I think what truly sets it apart is its cultural diversity, you can take a walk through neighbourhoods like Little Italy, home to Jean Talon market, or explore Chinatown, mile end or the plateau, each offering their own atmosphere, food and character and it’s not just the city itself, within a few “Canadian hours” you can be hiking the mountains of Tremblant or paddling around Algonquin provincial park or heading up the St Lawrence river on the look-out for whales.
For me Montreal is a microcosm of Canada , a really friendly, multicultural city that has art, music, history, food, and the outdoors all just a 7-hour flight away from the UK! It perfectly blends everything that makes Canada so special.”
Here’s a living, breathing glimpse at what makes Canada so special
Ready to experience the magic of Canada firsthand? Reach out to our Paul for a chat about your dream itinerary, he’s here to design a tailor-made Canadian adventure that ticks every box (even some you didn’t know you had!). Just one message or phone call to 01242 253 073 and your journey begins.

The best things to do in Muscat: Cat's Guide
I love Muscat. There’s something about this sprawling city that just draws you in. It’s modern yet charming, and it doesn’t feel as shiny as other big Middle Eastern cities (I’m looking at you, Dubai!) There are so many great things to do in Muscat, you could easily pack two to three days here.
Here’s a roundup of my favourite things to do and see in Muscat. I don’t doubt that this Omani capital will woo you just like it did me.
When to go to Muscat
Muscat has a beautiful climate year-round, but it is best to avoid the summer season when temperatures can reach into the 40’s (degrees Celsius). Otherwise, we advise light long sleeve tops and long shorts, skirt or trousers. And don’t forget your sunglasses and hat!
Learn the lingo
If you’re going to try and memorise some local language before you visit (we think it’s always worthwhile!), the greetings: As-salám aláykum (peace be with you) AND the reply: Aaláykum as-salám (and to you peace) are worth remembering!
Things to do in Muscat
Marvel at the Grand Mosque
The Grand Mosque is a must visit when in Muscat. This stunning example of Islamic architecture and modern design was gifted to Oman by Sultan Qaboos to celebrate his 30th year of reign and really is a sight to behold.
Open between 8 and 11am from Saturday to Thursday for those not visiting to pray, be prepared to be wowed by the huge, spectacular prayer hall. You’ll find the second-largest hand made Iranian carpet in the world here. It’s an incredible 70x60m in size and took more than 600 women (that’s 1,800 hands!) an incredible four years to weave. And don’t forget to look up! Floating elegantly above your head is the most beautiful chandelier. An incredible 45 feet tall and 26 feet wide and bejewelled with 600,000 crystals – this 8.5 tonne beast will put your lampshades to shame.
Don’t forget to cover up before entering the Mosque, too – you need to be fully covered and avoid anything too tight! Everyone must have their shoulders, arms and legs covered and, if you’re female, don’t forget to take a headscarf to cover your luscious locks. (Girls over seven need to do this also!) You can hire headscarfs and abayas (full-length dresses) once there for a small fee if needed.
Learn about Omani history at the Beit Al Zubair Museum, Old Muscat
After ambling around the Grand Mosque, head to the Beit Al Zubar Museum in beautiful Old Muscat for a fantastic insight into Oman’s rich history. Behind the impressive carved, wooden doors you’ll find an incredible collection of Omani artifacts, traditional clothing, jewellery and weapons – including two magnificent old canons gifted by Sultan Qaboos for the museum opening.
Get lost in the Muttrah Souk: Muscat’s most characterful quarter
Once you’ve soaked up a good dose of culture at Beit Al Zubair, take a walk along the charming Corniche, the coastal road that links Old Muscat with the fishing district of Muttrah.
Spend some time getting lost (on purpose!) in the maze of shaded alleyways that make up Muttrah Souk. There are different sections to help you get your bearings though: The gold and silver souk will satisfy your magpie eyes with glistening jewels, the household goods section and the shoes and clothes section are great for a mooch, before treating your senses to the perfumes and spices quarter. It’s the perfect place to pick up a unique and authentic souvenir of your travels.
Lunch at Muttrah Souq and Fish Market
Muttrah is the perfect place to find a great local eatery for a lunch stop. If you’re touring Muscat with a guide, he is sure to have some great recommendations. It’s always a good idea to listen to the locals!
One of my favourite things to eat in Oman is Shuwa (grilled meat). It’s a favourite dish of the Omani people, often prepared for special occasions like Eid. Cooking the Shiwa dish takes a long time – the grilled meat is often prepared on the first day of Eid before being marinated in fragrant Omani spices, wrapped in banana or palm leaves and then slowly cooked in a sand oven for one to two days. My stomach just rumbled!
Tour the Royal Opera House
After re-fuelling on some delicious Omani cuisine, make your way to the Royal Opera House for a tour. This gleaming structure was built in 2011 and is the leading arts organization in Oman. This venue, with its rows of bright red plush seats really is spectacular and they have frequent evening performances on, I’d always recommend trying to catch a show if it’s something that might interest you!
A spot of education at the National Museum
Your last cultural stop of the day is Oman’s National Museum. You’ll be shown a backdrop of Oman’s rich history, spanning from the very first human settlements in the country, all the way to present day. If you’re anything like me, really learning about what makes a country unique is one of the most enriching things you can do on your travels.
The museum has 14 permanent and interactive exhibitions on things like currency, artillery and Oman’s Maritime history. There’s also a little cafe here if you feel in need of a refreshment before you browse!
End your day with rooftop drinks or a sunset Dhow Cruise
After a jam-packed day of culture and exploring, treat yourself to a refreshing sunset drink on the rooftop of your hotel ( the Crowne Plaza is great for this! ) and take in the sweeping views across the coast.
Or, if you’re looking for a magical experience to round of your Muscat adventure – and why wouldn’t you! – take a two-hour sunset dhow cruise off the shores of the city. Dhows are beautifully sleek, wooden crafts which are still to this day built just down the coast from Muscat by hand! These traditional workhorses of the Arabian seas are the perfect vessel from which to take in the beauty of the setting Omani sun. Your small-group cruise will take you south of Muscat where you’ll pass jagged cliffs, rock arches and hidden coves. Omani Kahwa (coffee) and dates will be served as you cruise along the water and take in the beautiful colours of the Omani sunset. As night falls, the setting in front of the twinkling lights of Muscat really is something quite special.
Have a little longer to explore in Muscat?
Diving off the Daymaniyat Islands
It might surprise you that there are some amazing opportunities for snorkelling and diving off the coast of Oman. Head around 20km off the coast of Muscat to the secluded beauty of the Daymaniyat Islands. Leaving the busyness of the city behind, you’ll be greeted by crystal clear waters and white sand beaches – it’s paradise! The visibility can be fantastic here, as good as 20-30 meters, so it’s not unlikely that you’ll spot turtles, colourful species of fish and even the occasional ray!
Swimming with dolphins
Dolphins can be seen all year-round in the waters off Muscat. Head out on a motor-yacht for a few hours to search for the playful pods and enjoy watching them frolic in the waters. This is a great trip for families or couples and you can even get in and snorkel with them if you like!
Kayaking from Muscat
The coastline that surrounds the Omani capital is dotted with inlets that make it perfect for kayaking. If you’ve got the time and love getting out on the water, this half-day excursion is a great way to spend a few hours. You’ll head about 45 minutes east of Muscat to Bandar al Khayran – it’s got some of the bluest water you will ever see! Your guide will lead you past mangroves and to secluded beaches that are only accessible from the sea. A highlight is stopping on these stunning shores for snacks and some snorkelling, before hopping back into your kayak for the return paddle. Don’t worry if you’re not an experienced kayaker. You’ll love this adventure regardless of ability levels – the kayaks are wide and stable, so easy to balance on!
So, there we have it, a roundup of some of my favourite things to do in Muscat. This really is a fantastic city that should feature on any Oman itinerary. If Oman is on your travel Wishlist, do drop me an email at [email protected] or give me a call on 01242 253 073 – I’d love to help design the perfect escape for you!
