Located in the remote southern part of the South Luangwa National Park and blending in seamlessly with its surroundings, is Bilimungwe Bushcamp. Situated in a mahogany grove overlooking three waterholes, Bilimungwe lies near the Luangwa River and an open plain where leopards prowl.
There are four (two twin and two double) open-fronted thatched chalets on wooden decks, each enjoying views from private verandahs across one or two of the three waterholes. Retaining that authentic bushcamp feel, wood interiors and furnishings are handmade by local artisans and bright African textiles bring splashes of colour. All four chalets include en-suite facilities of indoor and outdoor showers, twin basins and WC. In the heart of Bilimungwe is the cool, shady lounge and dining area built on stilts around an old termite mound with magical waterhole views. Bilimungwe has a secret breakfast spot on the edge of the Luangwa Valley which is perfect to watch the sun rising over the Chindeni hills.
The focus of Bilimungwe is the walking safari with the charming award-winning guide Manda Chisanga (when Manda is on leave another experienced guide will be on hand). Guests can also enjoy day and night game drives and sundowners on the rivers edge.
