Excursion Overview
Staying near Mgahinga National Park provides acccess to three extinct volanoes within the Virunga Mountain Range - Mgahinga, Sabyinyo and Muhavura, which provide a beautiful backdrop to stays in the area. These climbs require a good level of fitness, but the views at the top (especially of Muhavura) are breath-taking, spanning over Bwindi, Mt Rwenzori, Lake Edward in Queen Elizabeth National Park and other Virunga volcanoes.
