Overview
South Africa is a superb destination for families: so many of the attractions are either scenic or wildlife-based, so can be enjoyed as much by children as by parents.
Great examples would be the glass-bottomed boat operating in Hout Bay, or the Birds of Eden and Monkeyland attractions just outside Plettenberg Bay. For older children, a safari is always going to be hugely exciting. As a rule kids need to be 12 or over to go on game drives, and over 6 to go on the special children’s programmes some lodges run: but there’s a lot of variation so ask us for advice. Whatever the ages and interests of your children, you can rest assured that a holiday in South Africa will be one you all remember very fondly for years to come!
