Plenty of Africa’s big-game icons are there, and can be encountered against some spectacular backdrops – The desert-adapted elephants and giraffes in the moonscapes of Damaraland, lions and zebras gathered on Etosha’s bone-white saltpan, and the shifting lushness of the Caprivi Strip where crocs and hippos slip through waters that are more akin to the classic wetlands of Botswana.
