Excursion Overview
Short guided hikes into the Fish River Canyon are the most popular excursions in the area, as few have the time or budget to participate in extended itineraries with a few nights camping in the canyon. For the very fit, these can be long, demanding expeditions of up to 30km distance and taking the full day. Or you could book a far more leisurely half day hike to get a taster of the unique environment in the depths of the canyon, without exerting yourself unduly. Hiking with a knowledgeable guide means you can learn more about just how resilient the desert flora and fauna are to cling on to survival in such extreme conditions. Whichever option you choose, remember to pack good trainers or walking boots, as these are not provided at any of the accommodations we recommend.

We have just returned from an amazing 3 weeks in Namibia. What a beautiful country - the scenery is breathtaking and so varied.
