Geographically closer to Southeast Asia, but belonging to India, The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a secret and relaxed paradise ideal for discerning beach and nature lovers. The territory comprises 572 tropical islands, of which only 36 are inhabited. Richie’s Archipelago is the name given to nine emerald islands east of South Andaman, and it’s here where Barefoot Resort is found, on Havelock Island. This is arguably the best accommodation option in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, and it’s a paradise for nature lovers, divers and those who prefer an eco-friendly stay. Fishing, snorkelling, kayaking and trekking can be arranged.

Getting to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is not as laborious as it may seem; there are direct flights from Chennai to Port Blair (the capital city) and from there, it’s a simple ferry ride to Havelock Island. We suggest at least four nights on Havelock Island, due to travel days either side of your stay.
