The journey between the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific West is considered one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world, and taking the Rocky Mountaineer is an incredible way to experience it. The most popular route spans two days between Vancouver and either Banff or Jasper, with an overnight stop in Kamloops. Alternatively, you can extend the experience to three days by including Whistler in your journey, with a short train ride between Vancouver and Whistler, and overnight stops in both Whistler and Quesnel. Whichever route you choose, you’ll be treated to diverse and spectacular landscapes, including sparkling lakes, river canyons, forested hillsides, and towering mountains.
The Rocky Mountaineer offers two classes of service to suit different preferences. In SilverLeaf, seating is in a single-level, glass-domed carriage with oversized windows, providing stunning views. Delicious hot meals are served to your seat, and snacks and beverages are included throughout the journey. Overnight accommodation is in a 3-star hotel.
In GoldLeaf, you’ll enjoy a premium experience with seats on the upper level of a two-level, glass-domed coach featuring full-length panoramic windows. Gourmet meals are served in an exclusive dining room on the lower level, and all snacks and beverages are included. Overnight accommodation is in a 4-star hotel, with transfers to and from your hotel provided for both classes.
