Approximately one and a half hours from Tanjore sits Trichy, a bustling town on the banks of the Cauvery River.  It’s an atmospheric, loud, and a  busy place with an exuberant and throbbing bazaar. It’s also home to some impressive temples as well as a Rock Fort, which dominates the town.  The precise history of Trichy is unknown but our guided tour of Trichy does its best to unravel its turbulent and unique past.  The tour includes a visit to Ama Mandapa; its here where people perform rituals to honour dead spirits.
