Our Heritage Walk aims to explore Old Delhi's history in depth. Once known as Shahjahanabad, Old Delhi was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and the Indo-Islamic influence can still be seen today. Our walking tour explores monuments of the Pre-Shah Jahan period with a visit to Kalan Masjid and the Tomb of Turkman Shah. Taking in the labyrinth of lanes and narrow alleyways also allows the knowledgeable guide to point out significant havelis once owned by influential people of the time, such as the home of Chunna Mal. From the colourful spice markets to the famous Jama Masjid, from old educational institutions to century old churches, this walk provides a well rounded and far reaching insight into Old Delhi's turbulent and exciting history. It's important to note that all the walks can be customised to suit your interests and part of the fascinating journey can be enjoyed in a traditional rickshaw. The tour normally starts at 10am and finishes by 1pm.
