Day trip to Casablanca

About 90 minutes up the coast from El Jadida is Morocco’s largest city, Casablanca. Romantic images conjured up by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman should be set aside as the city is for the most part, modern, chaotic, and unattractively constructed in concrete. However there are some notable sights; the Hassan II mosque is an incredible building (the third-largest mosque in the world), built out over the sea with its minaret dominating the coastline, whilst the art-deco buildings of the French quarter are appealing. Notre Dame De Lourdes, the largest church in the city is also included in your visit, as it’s home to some huge, beautiful, modern stained-glass windows.
