Day 1
Fly overnight to Johannesburg.
Day 2
Connect with a short onward flight to Windhoek, where you'll be greeted and driven to your hotel in the suburbs. Your 4WD hire car will be delivered this afternoon and you'll be briefed on the routes and driving in Namibia. This evening you might want to sample Joe's Beerhouse or The Olive Restaurant, two very different Windhoek eateries!
Day 3
After breakfast it's a drive north on the B1, turning onto the road to the private Okonjima reserve after roughly three hours. If you arrive before 3pm you'll be able to enjoy an afternoon excursion before settling in for your two night stay.
Day 4
Two guided activities per day are included in your stay at Okonjima. There is the chance to track big cats by vehicle and on foot within the reserve, and you'll also want to visit the night hide after dinner.
Day 5
You may want to enjoy one more Okonjima activity in the morning before heading north towards Etosha. Entering the park through the southern gate, you'll stay for one night at a restcamp, Get yourself a seat by the floodlit waterhole and just relax while the animals come to you!
Day 6
A great day driving east across the park, stopping at water holes and viewing wildlife along the way. Exiting through the eastern gate, you'll stay for two nights on the private Onguma Reserve, just outside the park.
Day 7
An exciting activity tracking white rhino and learning about conservation efforts on the Onguma Reserve is included in your stay. For the rest of your time here, you'll want to go back into Etosha to explore the eastern sector of the park.
Day 8
A longer drive of roughly four to five hours today, ending with a one night stay near Rundu, the gateway to the Caprivi Strip.
Day 9
Another fairly long drive east, but with some fascinating stopping points such as the craft stalls in Kongola. Just outside the Mamili National Park, your base for the next two nights will be a comfortable safari lodge from which you can enjoy some definitive Caprivi wildlife and scenery.
Day 10
Mamili is like a mini Okavango Delta in its range of birds, mammals and landscapes. While possible to self-drive in the park, it can get very flooded at times so you are likely to opt for guided excursions.
Day 11
Driving further east today, you'll go through Katima Mullilo and drive south across the border into Botswana. Dropping your car off in Kasane, you will stay for two nights at a friendly riverfront lodge to explore the Chobe National Park.
Day 12
A day to enjoy guided boat cruises and game drives around Chobe. These can be booked in advance with us, or when you arrive at the lodge.
Day 13
This morning you will be transferred to Livingstone, in Zambia, for a flight to Johannesburg. Your final overnight flight brings you home.
Day 14
Arrive in the UK.

Northern Namibia offers the most regular and varied wildlife sightings in the country, especially at Etosha. Big cat interaction is assuredly on the menu with a visit to the private Okonjima Reserve to discover the admirable Africat Foundation. Eastern Etosha is a great area to explore on a self-drive trip, with some of the best scenery in the park and outstanding volumes of wildlife. The Caprivi Strip is Okavango-like, with boat cruises and fishing excursions amidst hippo, elephant and abundant birdlife.
