Situated on a 1,400 hectare private game farm in the far north of the Central Highlands, Fiume Lodge is perfect for a two night stay or a stopover en route to the Caprivi Strip or Etosha. The farm hosts a good variety of big game and smaller mammals, including giraffe, zebra, eland and ostrich, so nature drives tend to be relaxing and enjoyable. The stand out experience here though is the Bushman activity, which can be either a half or full day trip and is amongst the best on offer in Namibia.
The lodge itself is owner managed and provides a warm unfussy welcome and a comfortable stay. Accommodation is in six stone chalets with thatched roofs, with dark woods to provide a cosy feel in the winter and air-conditioning for relief during the hottest months. We would strongly recommend Fiume Lodge for visitors exploring the north in detail, and for anybody interested in Namibia’s rich Bushman heritage.
