The private Onguma Reserve just outside Etosha’s eastern gate hosts varied accommodation options and an increasing volume of wildlife. Onguma Bush Camp is the most economical way to discover the reserve, a traditional, friendly safari camp that is an excellent choice for families. There are now 19 rooms to suit all visitors: eight fairly rustic Standards Rooms for those on a budget; three Family Units that are similar in style but have extra space and beds; six newly built Waterhole / Pool View Rooms with a little extra luxury and space; and one Settler’s Room with a separate lounge area for relaxation.

The camp has a swimming pool, a recently enlarged waterhole that attracts plenty of animals and a laid-back dining area and bar, where game viewing stories of the day are exchanged. There are varied activities to enjoy at any Onguma camp, including day and night drives in the reserve, guided walks in the reserve, drives into Etosha and the recently unveiled rhino research drive, where guests can track the recently introduced black rhino and learn about conservation efforts.
