One of Windhoek’s most popular, reliable guesthouses for close to ten years, Olive Grove is still one of the capital’s best options. A welcoming guesthouse in a suburban area on the outskirts of the city, surrounded by the eponymous olive grove, tranquillity and relaxation are the main focus. There are 10 rooms, plus one Executive Suite and one Garden Suite, all with their own private veranda for al fresco drinks and snacks. Inside, the design is simple and minimal, with a cool, uncluttered feel that enables guests to shake the dust of a long self-drive safari or an overnight flight out of their hair.
Also enticing in this sense are the spa, plunge pool and peaceful gardens, helping to ensure that guests will leave Olive Grove far more relaxed then when they arrived. Service is friendly and unobtrusive, with a lounge, fireplace, dining room and open plan kitchen to enjoy an evening of drinks and dining, although guests will often want to eat outside in the warm Namibian nights. Olive Grove is only a short drive from the centre and within walking distance of some relatively lively bars and eateries, making it the perfect base from which to discover Windhoek.
